Pellet Machine Daily Maintenance & Common Fault Troubleshooting

Article Details

Scientific daily maintenance is the key to keep pellet machine stable for a long time and extend service life. Most equipment failures are caused by irregular operation and neglected maintenance. This article sorts out standard maintenance procedures and 6 common fault solutions to help customers reduce downtime loss.

Daily & Regular Maintenance Rules

Daily Inspection

Clean residual materials inside the pellet chamber to avoid hard material accumulation blocking die holes; check whether the belt and gear are loose; test motor operation sound and temperature; ensure no foreign matters enter the machine.

Weekly Maintenance

Lubricate bearings and transmission parts; check die and roller wear degree; clean fan and heat dissipation system; fasten all wiring and fixing bolts.

Monthly Deep Maintenance

Calibrate roller gap; polish die holes to remove carbon deposits; replace severely worn accessories; check electrical system and frequency converter parameters.

6 Common Faults & Quick Solutions

Fault 1: Low pellet molding rate, many powder materials

Reason: unreasonable raw material moisture, too large roller gap, serious die wear.

Solution: adjust material moisture to 12%–18%, fine-tune roller gap, replace worn die.

Fault 2: Machine jams and stops suddenly

Reason: too many materials fed at one time, hard foreign matter mixed in raw materials.

Solution: stop the machine and clean blocked materials, install feeding buffer device.

Fault 3: Pellet surface rough and easy to break

Reason: insufficient compression ratio, uneven material mixing.

Solution: adjust die compression ratio and optimize material mixing process.

Fault 4: Abnormal noise during operation

Reason: loose bearing, foreign matter inside chamber, gear wear.

Solution: lubricate or replace bearings, clean internal foreign matters.

Fault 5: Motor overheating

Reason: long-term overload operation, poor heat dissipation, voltage instability.

Solution: control feeding volume, clean heat dissipation fan, stabilize working voltage.

Fault 6: Unstable pellet output

Reason: uneven feeding speed, blocked individual die holes.

Solution: adjust automatic feeder speed, clean die holes thoroughly.
